Welcome to the Advancement Services website. The site provides detailed user guides and information regarding Advance Web CRM including field definitions, user trainings, and database updates.
Advance Web CRM is a full relationship database containing alumni, donors, students, faculty, staff, and friends of UC Santa Barbara. The information contained is confidential in nature and must only be used for business purposes. The university prohibits the sharing of any information with non-divisional staff and outside organizations or parties that have not been approved by a university agreement.
To obtain access to Advance Web CRM, you must fill out the Advance Access Request Form and sign the IA Statement of Confidentiality. Please consult with your supervisor to request access.
Advance Web CRM can be accessed using your UCSB NetID via: https://advancecrm.ia.ucsb.edu/Advance2017/. The site can only be accessed through our campus network by utilizing a UCSB-provided workstation on campus or by using Pulse VPN if working remotely.
Advance Web CRM Updates
Email Type Upgrade
Email Types have been updated to maintain alignment with how addresses and telephone numbers are coded. The historic coding of primary and secondary email has been adjusted to code based on email type (personal, business, assistant, etc).
NCOA Update
Quarterly NCOA screening and database updates completed. ~10,000 record were updated (02/2024).

As an employee of the Division of Institutional Advancement you are provided with access to sensitive or confidential information through use of the Advancement Web CRM system and other resources. You hold a position of responsibility and trust that carries the understanding that confidential information viewed within this system must be held in strict confidence. IA’s confidential information is not open to the external campus community and precautions are necessary by you to protect this data from unauthorized disclosure or use.
This responsibility will be executed in accordance with the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, the California Information Practices Act, California Public Records Act and other applicable laws, also including the policies and procedures of the University of California, UC Santa Barbara and the Division of Institutional Advancement.
In keeping with Federal and State Law, the following information is available only to UCSB Institutional Advancement Staff when required for the performance of their job duties. This information or reports may not be released to any other individual or organization outside the Division of Institutional Advancement.
